The Lady with the Unicorn series. These splendid six tapestries are
displayed at the Cluny Museum in Paris. They were woven in about
1510, featuring the arms of Jean le Viste, with each representing
one of the senses except for the final A Mon Seul Desir. These
twelve foot high masterpieces were lost until 1844 when the
novelist George Sand discovered them in Boussac suffering from
damage from rats and damp walls. The museum purchased them in 1883
and restored them. They are now considered amongst the national
treasures of France.
